You won’t be disappointed with the endless activities that Tanque Verde Ranch offers over Spring Break. TVR is well known for their numerous horseback riding, biking, hiking, and other adventurous activities throughout the year. However, Spring Break calls for even more! See the stars like you have never before with our Astronomy instructors from the International Dark Sky Association. Take-up an artsy side challenge and join in on our Silversmith Class or Wine & Painting Class. Bring the kids to have them experience our in-kitchen Pizza Making Class with our Chef Janet. Also, Bingo fun for everyone is included in the weekly Spring Break Activities schedule. The fun doesn’t stop there! Being the Spring Break is such a great time to visit the Ranch, our weekly activities schedule are enhanced with our everyday horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking activities and more!
10. Pizza Making Class for Kids
On the kiddo’s downtime from Kids Club, which has a schedule in itself, the kids will be able to partake in the kitchen with our very own Chef Janet. Here, they will be led into the kitchen and be able to learn, hands-on, how to make their own pizza. Give your kids an experience to remember and a recipe to take home! The class will be held over lunchtime (11:00 am-12:00 pm).
9. Bingo Fun for Everyone
BINGO! The perfect activity to join in on with family or friends. Sit back and relax with your Bingo cards and dabbers in the Saguaro Room. Bingo will take place later in the evening on select dates from 8:30-9:30 pm. Enjoy this laid-back activity when your head isn’t quite ready to hit the pillow yet!
8. Wine and Painting
Everything goes well with wine. But when you add a Painting activity, it gets even better. The class will be painting on canvas with acrylic paints that feature a ‘desert’ scene. No need to be a professional painter to join this class as you can focus on the wine and FUN! A class instructor will be available to assist you if desired and also to refill your glass. Take home your piece of art, and a handful of fun memories! The class will be available select dates throughout Spring Break from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
7. Silversmith Class
Get crafty with southwestern feel with our Silversmith Class where you can make your own jewelry. Learn how to craft a personalized piece of jewelry with different metals and beading. A class instructor will be there to teach and assist. Bring home your new piece of the Ranch in necklace or bracelet form. The Silversmith Classes will be offered on select dates throughout Spring Break in the afternoon.
Sometimes the best thing to do on vacation is relax and encounter some deep meditative ‘me’ time. You can do with this with multiple classes of yoga schedule throughout the week. The Yoga class takes place outside on one of our event lawns which overlook the Rincon Mountains and Saguaro National State Park. Breath in mindfully, and breath out with pure happiness as you take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery. If you like this class, be sure to do it again, and again! Yoga will be available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays throughout the week.
5. Water Aerobics
Take advantage of a little workout in our refreshing pool. Be led by an instructor for 30 minutes to one hour of easy-flow water aerobics. Enjoy the cooling pool and after take a soak in our hot tub to refresh. Water Aerobics will be available twice weekly.
4. Horseback Riding
Saddle up to enjoy our numerous Horseback Riding activities. The Breakfast Ride is a must! Ride up to the Old Homestead where a homemade breakfast awaits including the Ranch’s most famous Blueberry Pancakes. Take a Walk Ride throughout the desert for a peaceful ride where you can take in the beauty of the desert around you. Try the Loping Ride which has a fast-paced ride much like a gallop. The Loping Ride requires a Lope Check. Another favorite is our Sunrise/Sunset Ride. On these rides, you can expect to take in the most exciting and breathtaking views as the sun starts your day or ends it. All horseback rides are available numerous times throughout the week.
3. Mountain Biking, Hiking, and Nature Walks
Venture out into the desert on two wheels or two feet. These excursions are for all experience levels from beginner to advanced. On the mountain bike be escorted by an experienced instructor throughout the mountain biking trails at Tanque Verde Ranch with your finely tuned and provided mountain bike, gloves, and a helmet. When hiking throughout the desert trails learn the in’s and out’s of from your hiking instructor as they stop and talk about the views, wildlife, and animals. These activities will keep you moving and entertained throughout your entire Spring Break vacation!
2. Cowboy Cookout
A must-do when vacationing at the Ranch is attending the Cowboy Cookout BBQ! Fill your plate with the Chef’s choice of grilled meats, ranging from ribs or steaks, homemade cornbread, fresh fruit, and much more as you listen to live music. During Spring Break only, our Cowboy Cookout features instructional Line Dancing as well! Take a seat fireside and relax as you let your meal settle, enjoy the company of others, and take in the beautiful night air. Attend the Cookouts Wednesday and Saturday nights weekly.
1. Amazing Desert Sky Astronomy
Being in the desert and seeing the stars is one thing, but being at Tanque Verde Ranch seeing the stars is a whole new realm. Over Spring Break Tanque Verde Ranch welcomes International Dark Sky Association and their instructors as they bring their scopes and studies of the skies to share with TVR guests. The International Dark-Sky Association works to preserve and protect the nighttime environment, and through their work, the desert night sky is truly something to behold. Bring your cameras as this is something spectacular!
